Message Summary: ...increased threat for dangerous fire conditions continue today through the weekend...
The prolonged period of warmth and dryness the area has seen of late has led to parched vegetation and an increased fire weather threat. According to area forestry commissions and the u.s. Forest service...
These conditions have made outdoor burning increasingly hazardous. The combination of dry vegetation...breezy winds...and daytime relative humidity values of 20 to 30 percent will result in a elevated threat for dangerous fire weather conditions for the weekend. The strongest winds are ongoing today around 10 to 20 mph while lighter winds are expected into the weekend. Fire danger will be elevated over the next few days and burning is generally not advised. Conditions are such that a spark from equipment...the heat from a catalytic converter...or any heat source could start a grass or brush fire. When barbecuing...take the utmost care. Do not dump ashes unless you are certain they are completely out. Live coals can burn for as long as one or two days after being used. Remember wildfires place area forestry departments...and other fire control agencies in life threatening situations and can endanger communities. Please use caution and help prevent forest and grass fires.
